My thoughts on prices...
My prices are reasonable because I don't have the overhead and expenses that other bakeries do. I can usually work with those on a tight budget. Compare my prices with other cake designers in the area.
Cakes are delivered fresh, usually having been baked within 24 hours. The same goes with fillings and icing. My prices start with white cake and vanilla frosting but let's face it: If you wanted a frozen vanilla cake then you'd be at WalMart or Giant.
I've never cancelled an order or delivered the wrong cake I generally call the customer within 24 hours of delivery to make sure they were happy. I've made many good friends through this business.
Another thing to be aware of is that our business is expanding, and weekends are becoming booked up solid. I will not overbook my weekends as that can lead to quality issues. Please check with me for available dates. I'm willing to reserve a slot on a given date while you decide what you wish to do but once I'm booked for a week I cannot in good conscience accept new orders for that week. |

| Here are the base prices for Party Cakes. Serving size is included in the chart. Party cake servings are larger than wedding cake servings. The basic decorations included in these prices are icing flowers or balloons. There is an additional charge for fondant, edible images, more complex decorations, or cake kits. |

My wedding cake prices are arrived at on a case by case basis. Since no two wedding cakes are the same I can't price on style or type. This is your special day. Why have someone else's cake? |

| Prices start at $3.00 per serving based on a simple yellow, white, or chocolate cake with butter cream icing with a simple design and it goes up from there. I can help with design ideas and details. I have started to include a seperate 6 inch bride and groom cake free of charge. |

| Setup is always included. Delivery within 15 miles of my business is free. Delivery outside that area is 50 cents a mile from my store to the destination (Both ways, according to Map Quest). I'm not going to "charge for my time" but I do need to recover upkeep and gas expenses on our delivery van. Often I have an assistant with me to assist in handling the cake and setup. I may wave delivery fees for larger wedding cakes. |
Payment can be made by cash, check, or by credit card via PayPal. Cakes over $100.00 require a $50.00 deposit and the balance 2 weeks (14 days or 10 business days) before delivery. I've done rush orders in the past but they are subject to my availability. I am willing to work with most budgets and schedules. |
A word about order confirmations: We have an order agreement when we've reached a price and you've agreed on a design and delivery date by phone or in person. Simply emailing me with a request does not constitute an order. This sounds like common sense but I had 2 people email me requests and think that they had placed orders last year. One called me to ask about picking up her cake and I was able to complete a very rushed order. The other customer became irate and left unfavorable reviews wherever she could. Neither is an experience that I wish to repeat. |
Wedding, 3D, and Party Cake Terms |
Based on issues I had with one customer during the last wedding season I think the following needs to be taken into consideration for all wedding cakes and large party cakes. If there is ever an issue I WILL make it right. That being said, I have instituted the following terms (When looking at a location pay close attention to the required equipment and temperature):
- Your initial deposit reserves your event date and is non-refundable.
- We must receive the balance by the due date indicated or contract is null and void, and deposit will not be refunded.
- The date of your final payment is the final date for any changes of size, style or flavors of the cake. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.
- Delivery is $.50 a mile in both directions and setup is free.
- We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s). Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below.
- If flowers are provided by an outside source, we will arrange up to 25 stems free; $1 for each additional stem. You acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants.
- If you or your representative elects to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Crystal’s Custom Cake’s possession.
- On occasion we will photograph our cakes and we reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion.
